Dr. Mark Russell received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing in 1981. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Lansing General Hospital in 1986.

He has practiced general orthopedics with an emphasis in joint replacement, trauma, sports medicine, and reconstructive surgery in the Lansing area
since 1986.

Dr. Russell performs minimally invasive total hip and minimally invasive total knee arthroplasty.

Dr. Russell serves as co-chairperson of the Department of Orthopedics at Ingham Regional Medical Center. He also holds the position of assistant clinical professor at MSU-College of Osteopathic Medicine and is on the board of directors of the Lansing Surgery Center and Genesis Surgery Center. He is active in many prestigious professional organizations, including the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics, the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and the Michigan Orthopaedic Society.
