Dr. O’Connor is a board certified, fellowship trained, Interventional Physiatrist/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist. He is triple board certified in: Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine by the ABPMR, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (EMG’s) by the ABEM.
Dr. O’Connor has been in practice since 2000, after completing a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Electrodiagnostics at Michigan State University. He completed his residency training in PM&R at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NYC, NY in 1999 where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. O’Connor is a graduate of Nova-Southeastern University COM in 1995. Dr. O’Connor has a clinical faculty appointment in The Michigan State University COM Department of PM&R, and is co- director of the Interventional Spine/EMG fellowship affiliated with MSU. Dr. O’Connor is also a spinal pain consultant to the Michigan State University athletic medicine department.
Dr. O’Connor’s expertise is in the non-surgical and minimally invasive interventional treatments of back pain and spinal disorders. He has a clinical interest in Neuromodulation/Spinal Cord stimulation for the treatment of chronic neurogenic pain disorders. Dr. O’Connor is also recognized as one of the top practitioners of diagnostic EMG in the state of Michigan. He has authored numerous articles/publications and spoken at national meetings on topics of Electrodiagnostics, and spinal interventions for pain. Dr. O’Connor is also recognized as a “5-star practitioner” for Pain Management by “healthgrades.com.”
